Stripped oil plug

Did a oil change on the Old 463. When I tightened up the plug on my Milodon 7 qt. Pan it stripped. Didn't even take much effort to do so but... Anyone's use on oversized plug on this pan with success? Any recommendations?

In the past there was a thread cutting plug available made just for this purpose. I have used them myself on older pans of Chevy origin. The thing is, they cut threads, cut threads leave metal chips. When I used them I put heavy grease on the cutting surfaces to hold the chips, then removed the plug and washed the chips away hoping none got left in the pan. Do they work, yes, with reservations.

The biggest issue is taking care not to cut another set of threads the SECOND time you screw it in.

I would always cut the threading part off so as not to re-cut any threads.

That's a good idea if you can. Some of those items that I've seen have the cutting surfaces along the full length of the threads.
