Mid-1980s Chevy trucks (like my 1986 dually) used the same Saginaw pump with a smaller reservoir can on the pump and a remote reservoir connected with a hose. This pump fits in the stock Olds bracketry. I'm not sure how going to a remote reservoir reduces the bracketry, however. The pump body still needs to bolt to the motor with belt tensioning capability.

If you get one of these Chevy remote-fill reservoir setups, the reservoir simply replaces the one on your existing pump body. As I said, they are common in mid-1980 GM pickups.
