quietest muffler for 71 olds 442

At the moment I have a set of flowmasters 2 chamber mufflers in my 71 442. With a 3.90 gear 28" tire, x-pipe & 461 olds, the droning at 60 mile/hr is driving me mad. Either I'm getting older or these mufflers are getting louder with age. They are about 10 years old. Since I have a set of race ready electric exhaust cutouts I'm looking for the quietest mufflers to enjoy Sunday morning drives.
thx for your recommendations?

I use Walker Super Turbos, relatively quiet compared to Flowmasters but these flow well.

my 2 cents

Walker Super Turbos on my 1972 W-30 & Magnaflows on my 1965 442. Both are an excellent choice but for quite power go with the Walkers.

I use Dynomax Super Turbos on my stock 350 going through 2 1/4" pipes and Dynomax VT on my 461 going through 2 1/2" pipes.

Walker Quiet-Flow mufflers on my '70 442 with stock size pipes. Noise level seems to be very close to factory, with the nice rumble at idle and power sound out the tailpipes while cruising and accelerating - the annoying drone inside the car. Might be a bit more restrictive then other mufflers, but worth it not to have the droning and constant noise inside the car while trying to speak with someone, listen to the radio, or hear the engine.

Another vote for the walker turbo style muffler. I've had them for years purchased through Summit.

I can understand not liking the flowmaster sound/feeling.

Summit Turbos and also the Dynomax Super Turbos will be much quieter. Go with the largest body muffler you can fit, helps quiet it down as well.
