Oil Pump Gasket?

Is there suppose to be a gasket between the oil pump and block in a 455?

Mondello does make a baffle plate that goes in between the oil pump and the main cap.

you do need to however make sure the pick up is sealed to the pump.

Thanks for the replays. I know that early Fords use a gasket on their oil pumps so I thought I would ask. Thanks
