Offenhauser Dual Quad with a MSD Distributor?

I've searched this site and I can't find a definite answer to my question, so I'm hoping someone can help. I have an Offenhauser dual quad manifold I want to put on my 455 with a Terminator X EFI 2x4 with 4150's. I know the Offy isn't a good intake but I'd like to play around with dual quads and I always have the option to go back to a single 4 barrel if I find I just don't like it.

My question is, can I use my MSD distributer (part 8566) with the Offy dual quad manifold? I keep seeing mixed answers due to fitment, anywhere from "absolutely not, it won’t fit" to "yes, HEI will fit but not one with a 'large' cap". There's even a post on this site where someone is using the same Offy intake with an MSD Ready To Run distributer on an EFI application. The Olds MSD RTR has almost the exact same measurements as the 8566, so it sounds like it should.

Any information would be appreciated, thanks!!

I have run the offy low rase dual 4 intake for several years with edelbrock carbs and a msd ready to run. That setup fits no problem. I suspect you'd do fine with a stock none-hei sized distributor

Honestly I say just give it a try. FAFO. Post the results

During our dyno testing we used a MSD pro billet distributor and it fit with every intake we have tested.

Thanks for the replies, sounds like I'm going to be OK! This build is going to take a while, but I'll post some results once we get everything figured out, there's a lot going on along with the Terminator X 2x4 (aluminum heads, headers, and a few other things).
