Hey guys,

Basic question which I need input from all you motorheads on; can I use non-oxy fuel for my Olds? I’ve been using non-ethanol premium unleaded, but was wondering if the non-oxy is best or I’ll advised?

What's the octane rating?
You will need at least 91 octane to keep that 394 from detonating.

 

Ethanol fuel is oxygenated fuel. Non-ethanol and non-oxy are both also known as straight gasoline.

 

I will have to check that station tomorrow to see what the exact octane rating is on their non-oxy fuel!

 

Alright guys the non oxy at my station I go to is 91. That should work eh?

 

It should be adequate.
