Anyone know if the starters on the BB's are proprietary for the automatic vs stick flywheels.

Appears they may have different nose pieces??

P.S. Have unit bolted on dyno (with stick flywheel), difficult to get customer supplied starter into position?? His ride is automatic so I believe he has the correct piece, but we need to use the stick wheel for the testing!

They ARE the same. With the exception of some FWD 307 installations in the 1980s, all 1964-1990 Olds V8 engines use the same flywheel/flexplate ring gear diameter and number of teeth.
