Max ‘68 400 HP
Hi all,
New to the forum. I have a fully restored, all original ‘68 442 with an all stock Rocket 400. From what I understand the 400 that is used in the ‘68 and ‘69’s is different than the earlier 400’s due to the stroke, and as a result, is a less modifiable motor than the earlier ones. I’m looking to try to squeeze as much H.P. out of this motor as possible with out modifying it to the point where I can no longer call it numbers matching. I’m looking for suggestions (new cam, headers, electronic ignition, etc...). Thanks in advance for all of the input.

Call Bill at BTR Performance, he just built one a few months ago that made impressive power for a stock appearing engine with headers.
