intake gasket question?

i have a 70 442 4 speed intake (cast iron non W-30) with bad pitting around the heat riser. it will have to be surfaced because it is to bad to use the way it is. do they make a thicker intake gasket for something like this? i have never used anything other than the valley pan (turkey tray) on anything i have ever built. if i can get a thicker gasket will i need to run the aftermarket bolt on turkey tray. i don't think i will have any luck finding another 442 4 speed intake.

this is the intake with the PCV in it. were they only on 442 4 speed or 442 OAI non w cars?

I know you can get fibrous gaskets aftermarket for the intake manifold. I assume they are a bit thicker than the steel turkey tray gasket. I bet if you use one like this with the turkey tray cut out and inserted under the intake manifold it will work fine for you:

BINGO!

Gasket is .060 thick, it will squish down a bit.

Smear some RTV silicone on both sides of the gasket.I do this if it flat or not. What is the casting number of the intake?

I don't have a picture and it may be a crazy idea but you might think about filling the pits with JB Weld and then using a file to smooth it off. Just a wild azz idea probably.

this is the 404521 intake with the PCV port in it. i was told to fill it with dev con and sand it down and would be fine but i don't like doing things like that. i guess i could try it and see how it looked and how hard it was after i was done. i don't know how much heat this stuff will hold up to.

That's a common intake, and they are even found on some deltas. It doesn't matter if it has the port or not.If you look at the ones that do not,you will see the boss, where they drill the hole. You could do that to a nice intake.
