Ignition Box bad?

I think my MSD ignition box (i believe is the name) is going bad. Not sure where i should post it so mods please move to other location if this is wrong.

Symptoms:

Sounds like the starter was going bad but it would jump just fine (battery brand new also)

Today i had it out and then when i started it it sounded like it was slowly turning over like a dying battery. i let it sit for a little then i started it up and it sounded like a .22 went off out of my exhaust.

Solution:

1.) the ignition box
2.) the starter
3.) not timed right (just had it and the carb tuned)

what you guys think?

Box quits working when you have less than about 10.5 volts so if it''s slow to crank you could have low bat voltage.
Easy way to check the box is, take the white wire and touch it to ground then pull it away. Every time you do that it should fire your coil, if not it's probably bad.

Pull your coil wire. If cranking normal, then you have a timing issue.
