FWIW, I've heard the factory HP and torque ratings aren't very accurate. If you are searching for a 455 to replace an engine in your Cutlass or to rebuild then I would buy it.

Low compression engine, around 275hp, smog J heads not the best.

Heads can easily be replaced. Plus, if you are rebuilding it anyways you can put some higher compression pistons in it.
