Exclamation Holley BBO street dominator intake ?

Hi, somebody told me he did have a holley street dominator intake for the BBO, and he want to sell it, so if somebody could tell me if holley built the street dominator intake for BBO . If they did, who know's something about it, neet technical specifacation. I know that they did build one for SBO, but can find anything for BBO. Parhaps Norm or Joe can help me, they know realy a lot about oldsmobiles! I want to put it on my 425 instead of the original 2bb intake. Berend

I'm pretty sure that they did make a BBO version, but I can't find a part number right now. It's long out of production in any case. The Street Dominator is a single plane intake, so it's designed for higher RPM operation, at the expense of low end torque. The question is, what else are you doing to the motor and does this intake match how you plan to use the car? For a mild BBO, I'd lean more towards a dual plane intake like the old Edelbrock O4B or the Performer.

Hi, thank you Joe and Norm for your opinion. i want to make a steetable engine, so it scould not be to radical a for example JM22-25-10 Mondello/Engel , i was thinking approximately 350 to 380 HP and 450ft/tq. shoud not go far over this. This engine '67, 425, 39 degree cam angle small lifters makes 300hp and 430ft/tq richt now as i found it in the tech page, original with 2bb cab. Want to put an TH 200r4 (i now this is weak, but got gut gears and i will overhaul it) behind it, and 3.08 or 3.23 gears, so it wil run on the Autobahn = highway to. Hope you give me some help, thanks,
Berend

About the street dominator i found that it scould run from 1500 up to 6500 rpm for small block olds, and even so for small block chevy, but nothing else i could find.
The artical i did read they told it did run very strong from the low up to the top rpm, but i don't know anything about the cam or gears they did used.

I'm a big believer in using a dual plane manifold on a mild street driven engine. Ultimately, the manifold selection has to match the other engine mods, the rear end gearing, and the anticipated use of the car.

No track data to back it up but I do like the response I get with the Performer setup. Good low end and 'hang on ' from 45 mph and beyond.

It's a goofy gimmicky intake. Since it's aluminum, it isn't even heavy enough to make a good doorstop.

Why didn't you start a new thread before opening one from 2008 that has nothing related to your question.

Yes, there is a Holly Street Dominator in BBO. I have one of each. Here is the part number. I apologize for the picture size.

You can run that one on a 350. What compression, cam, torque converter stall and rear gear are planned? Remember it is a single plain intake manifold.

If you're truly looking at a street dominator intake look for a Port O Sonic intake instead. Way better intake

You will be around 8.6 to 1 with .042" Felpro head gaskets. The factory pistons will be .025" to .030" below deck. The more expensive .027" will give better quench and require less head milling to reach 9.5 to 1 or better.

The BB Holley street dominator is a good street intake. its designed with a small port cross section for high velocity . its also got a very small plenum volume.

it sure isnt no high RPM race style intake

A lot of guys seem to speak highly of the Street Dominator, never used one. What are your thoughts on him using one vs a Performer or RPM in a heavy 75 Cutlass on an Olds 350? He should have started his own thread.
