Help with motor mounts please

Dropped my motor in yesterday and the bolt holes on the mounts dont line up, the holes are over an inch apart. I have a 69 442 with a 71 455 and ordered mounts for a 69 442. The holes are far off but can they still be worked it in? Are there different nounts for a big and small block maybe these are for a small block? Should I try a different brand? Sorry if this topic was discussed already, I dont have time right now to go searching through threads.
Thanks, Rob

OK, I feel better now.

Search is your friend, but I'll make it easy (from Saturday's post):

Try loosening the block to mount bolts, I use steel lineup pins I found at Sears to get one side started. Last time I replaced a mount I got one from Year One p/n 508N, none of the aftermarket mounts that I've seen fit very well. Super Cars Unlimited might have a better fitting mount.
I didn't realize the Anchor mount was the wrong p/n.

Especially when they're the wrong ones. Most of the parts vendors have the listings wrong, although it's usually the other way (they show 2328 for the 1968 442 when it should be 2261). Whoever sold these mounts obviously got it wrong.

Been a while since I've pulled a motor, but can you put the mounts on backwards?

Joe for some damn reason Anchor has the 1970 BBO cars using B body mounts with the post in them to attach to the frame so that's what we have listed in the computer. When I called Anchor to find out what was up the guy on the phone told me that he checked "some old catalogs back to 1972" and it was the same all the way back so the information had to be correct. I tried to tell him it wasn't because I owned one of these cars and I could assure him the information was wrong, but I don't think that went very far.

No, the same mounts are used on both sides. The only Olds with differen RH/LH mounts are the 1965-1970 full size cars (B/C-body). These use the P/N 2262/2263 mounts with the threaded post.

Yeah, this is why I do my own part number research before going to the parts store. And it sounds like you've had the same success here as I have in talking to header companies about Supremes.
