Grant piston rings

Grant piston rings

I am building a 455 machine work complete bored .030 over, have new Keith Black Hypereutectic pistons. I plan on using Grant Piston rings - new in box I have had for years . Any input on these ?

According Grant website - top ring is cast grey iron - black phosphate coated ... the box has part # 60028 , which does not show on their website ( must be a an older part # )

Ok then just make sure it’s honed accordingly.

For the price of a set of rings I would at least want a set with moly top rings. Probably less than $60 for a set of Hastings Moly rings.

Also make sure to file fit the top ring with the KB pistons. Probably will be around .028" gap

Not all KB pistons require that gap, only hypereutectics.
