I moved your post to its own thread. Hopefully now you will get better coverage.

FWIW, I used the TRW L2323F pistons in my 455. If you aren't going to race your car seriously then I suggest using stock or TRW pistons. They are priced reasonably.

Take a step back. Before you worry about pistons, look at the big picture. What are your goals for this engine? What is your budget? You need to make sure that all the components are matched for the operating range you intend. For example, high compression pistons are a waste of money if you still have the J heads and stock cam. Frankly, I'd worry about the heads first, then intake and exhaust improvements, THEN compression.

X2 you also need to consider your rearend ration. A planned build always works better.

Dual exhaust always helps wake up the 455 too.

Just make sure your starting with a good foundation, have it magna-flux tested first. The keith blacks (prt#kb866) they run about $440 but like joe said the smog heads are going basicly restrict what ever good they do. And depending where you stay I know myself and j-chicago have g heads for sale. Either way post pics of the build.
