Looking for 394 goodies..intake and exhaust manifolds.

Hey, I'm in search of either both or the left side exhaust manifold from a dual exhaust equipped 1963-64 88/98/Starfire with the 394. As well as a 4 bbl intake and possibly carb.

Those dual exhaust manifolds are hard to come by. I've only ever seen one and it wasn't for sale. You might check out Evil-bay. I think they turn up there from time to time. Be prepared to spend a good chunck of change though.

Ya, it sounds that way...I put in an inquiry on Junkyard Dog...we'll see how that goes... Does anyone have a picture of the manifold, so I know what I'm looking for?

There is a company called Pypes that has stainless exhaust pipes that will work with some fab work the driverside pipe fits the 2 1/4 driverside and expande to 2 1/2 a few inches after the flange I'm ordering them this week to fit up to my 64 Olds 98. When installing aftermarket exhaust there is no tru bolt on for any car there is always some fab work involved.

I just found a 4 bbl intake on ebay listed for a '57 371. It looks nearly identicle to my 2 bbl manifold... says the part # is 569138. Can anyone verify that #? I guess the ports are smaller on the 371? But does it still bolt on?

Here's the listing- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/57-OL...4506.m20.l1116

that intake wont fit the 59 to 64 Olds 394 there is a really good tech reference on here that explains the years that the 371 and 394 have interchangability.

394 dual manifolds

I found this for sale... Says dual exhaust manifolds. Looks like 2 driver side manifolds to me. Is this guy trying to pull something? And can the manifolds be swapped side to side and work for duals anyway?

They're both the same manifolds for the left side of a '61 '62, 394 Olds. The left manifold you are looking for is hard to find '63 '64, only and I have a friend with several but he, I don't think will part with any of them as he's building several '63 "98" Conv. right now. I know one of them is NOS, and I've got a really nice used one and I've turned down an offer of $250.00. Good luck on your search but maybe you'll have to make a dual exhaust system with your single exhaust manifold, using the original Left side Manifold from your Single Exhaust system. The '61 and '62 Duals were made using the same single Exhaust Manifolds so it still can be done on a '63 if you need to.

Ok that's what I thought. I was wondering why nobody was really biting on them. Thanks for the info. Can I still use one of these to replace the funky crossover manifold?

I already snagged me a 4bbl intake out of a junkyard if you can believe that. Off of a '60 though. Should fit, correct? I know the exhaust ports are different, but are the intake?

I hope you realize the difference between '61,'62, 394 engines as to '63,'64 394, as '63,'64 engines have all aluminum water pump assemblies and the others including '60s are cast Iron, if it makes any difference at all.
Just check it out as you might need Linkage specific to '63.

I'm not sure how the water pump matters in reference to the intake manifold. I just want to know if the '60 manifold will bolt on a '63 motor/heads.

I've got the LH exhaust manifold (for true dual exhaust) if your still interested? I'd like to get $225 for it, and you cover the shipping.
I also might have linkage for the 4bbl carb you can have free, just cover the shipping.
I converted my 394 in my Dynamic 88 Convertible over from 2bbl to a 4 bbl and the only issues I really had were linkage issues which were fixed right up with some tinkering and patience. Do be cautious of the trans linkage though, cuz your trans will shift funky. Hydramatics are very tempermental lol

Heres some pics of the exhaust manifold you are looking for-
*NOTE- one of the flange bolts will need to be drilled out and tapped*

Thats a nice looking manifold and will clean up and can be drilled out for a new bolt,225.00 is a fair price and if you want dual exhaust for your 394 its the easiest way to go.

Intake

Rich I have 2 - 4BBL intakes, one from a '62 starfire, 1 from a '64 Dynamic 88. Both were beed blasted and painted cast grey. I also have a carb that was rebuilt a few years back and only saw demo derby use. It was drained and should be good to run. If you are serious, I have a friend with a running engine stand that could test run the carb. I can send photos- let me know, Dave
