engine build questions 455 (488 stroker) fitment issues
hello everyone
i am in the process of building new engine for my 1971 442 conv. still have orig. but its getting tired, and i don't want to kill it
i have a 455 siting at the machine shop, going with a stroked crank, forged pistons roller valve train, and some edelbrock heads . so on
here is my concern, i know edelbrock's intakes are taller than stock but shaving takes away from performance, i would still want to run stock ram air set up and not sure if A/C brakets will fit with roller valve train .
has anyone come up fit fix that still looks like stock set up. or know what set up will.
thanks for the help

Stock and the long out of production E-brock O4B are the only aluminum intakes that allow the stock O.A.I. parts to fit. There are aftermarket O.A.I. adapters that will clear with a taller intake. A drop base filter housing will help, but pay attention to the clearance reduction between the air cleaner lid and the top of the carb air horn. It makes no sense to use a taller intake for flow only to choke it off at the carb inlet.
