Electric Fuel Pump Set Up?

Not sure If I am posting this in the correct area, but here goes.
68 Cutlass with a 455, 700r4 weekend cruiser. I broke down saturday (Fuel pump/mechanical died) on the Cross Bronx Expressway (Fun place to be stuck...).
I am seeing that most folks are leaning me towards a holley blue electric set up and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on whole set ups.....IE Regulator,Gauge,Filter,Mounting etc, as I am guessing I am not the first to make this switch.
Have been looking at some RobbMC mechanical pumps, but I keep getting suggestions to go electric.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I JUST posted this on another thread so it's easy:
Aeromotive.
Pump, filters, regulator.
Russell Classic hose and a ton of AN fittings.

The Holley HP Series is their top of the line beyond the blue pumps. They come in two versions based on output. I put the lower version on my stock 54 Olds. I think it is 7psi and 125 gph. It does not need a regulator. I think the larger pump comes with a regulator. They are not the old vane type pumps and are referred to as Gerotor pumps. They work like an oil pump. They do require a filter between the tank and the pump. I just finished a 300 mile trip and it worked perfectly. I see there are some negative reviews so make you own decision. It was recommended to me by a friend who has been very satisfied with his. The only place I have found them is at Summit. Here is the link:

You may want to consider an oil pressure switch that will disconnect in the event of the loss of oil pressure. It is a good idea on any electric pump.

I installed the HP series on my 72 cutlass. Have not been able to drive it yet but many of my friends have the same product and have not hear a complaint yet.

I am using Edelbrock quiet flo for last 3-4 years. No problems so far, ran it from the stock pipe on the tank using a crush sleeve fiting, 1 filter before the pump, 1 after. 8an braided line and no regulator. Street setup, my car will rarely see the track.

Or carry an extra mechanical pump with ya. You could of been up and running again within a few minutes. Whole lotta more stuff to fail in a electric setup then a mechanical pump.

Sock filter?

Guys, Not sure if I go with an electric and 100 micron filter before the pump, should I remove the sock filter in the tank? Was thinking the sock, the 100mc and a 40mc up by the carb may be too much filter?

I have Rob Mac pick up, left the sock on with the Holley 125, 100MC filter no issues.

I guess I still have the sock on (another story). I have the inline filter before the pump and then the usual inline filter at the carb. I figure it is kind of like Gentleman Jack, it is better because it is filtered twice.
