Edelbrock Torker, your thoughts?

Found a torker for cheap for a stock 455, will this be a good setup for the olds along with a quadrajet? I read the torkers were meant for higher RPM, like 2500-6500. But i heard that the olds 455 motors shouldn't be pushed passed 5k for periods of time or else it will suck the oil pan dry and i will lose the bottom end. Is this true about taking the motors pass 5k, if so, what intake manifold would you recommend? Also what quadrajet should go with the Torker if i went with it?

If you got a relitively stock 455 I think you should stick to a dual plane manifold. I tried the torker before on a stock 400 and wasn't impressed. Jmho
