Only if the lower leg of the E was ground off to turn it into an F...

Every single 455 built in 1970 except the W-30s got the E heads. Cores can be had for about $100 a pair. Rebuilt E heads are worth $200 - $300 a pair.

By the way, E heads were not originally installed on a 69 442. They were only used in the 1970 model year.

e heads are fine. They flow well, are easily ported for even better flow-as all heads are- said this because the amount of material needed to be removed for better flow numbers just isn't that hard. Stock e heads are a fine upgrade to most non c headed engines. Ok let's chime in on the super expensive other olds heads that are better. But really. If you can get em for cheap-go for it. Think about having them cc'd to get actual compression ratio since you don't know how many times they've seen a machine shop. I had a g headed 455 and got e's for replacements from auto zone. huge improvement since they had 18 thousandths off the deck. Never would have known if not checked. Never would have chosen the cam I did.
