Dual snorkel air cleaner from other GM cars?

Looking at some cool dual air cleaners from some fellow forummers, would it be possible to use an air cleaner from other GM cars as I don't want to pay big money for a 68/69 442 or Ramairbox/Spectre.
The standard I have now is a 14x3 with flat base, looking at some ebay 70-72 Camaro or 76-82 Corvette with 12x3.5 and quarter inch base drop, would those also fit without hitting anything?
Thanks all!

A simpler solution is to get a second air cleaner to match your own. Remove the snorkel from it and graft it to your original one. A competent welder or body guy can do this in his spare time for a few bucks making it look totally stock. Then you just have to rig the vacuum tubes to slave one heatstove to the other.

Most air cleaners from other Q-jet equipped GM cars will fit your Olds with no problems. I ran a dual snorkel air cleaner from a GTO on my otherwise stock 1968 442 years ago. Note that all GM factory dual snorkel air cleaners tend to bring stupid money these days, so the fabricated unit might be the better choice.

Agreed. A while back I was going to make 3 or 4 of them 68-ish OAI DSAC's, but it never got further than a box of collected Pontiac short snouts and the base AC units.

Do you want a DIY kit of parts?

Just scored one for $50, I think this is a steal for a nice factory look with all tubing attached.
Could be from an L82 Corvette or a L69 Camaro, doesnt really matter I think it looks better than the cooking pan I have now.
Passenger side PCV could be added if I swap the D grommet to the intake and use a different hose.
Should I make a hole in the cleaner for the driver side PCV as well or could I route that to the carb or just use an oil breather?

I just looked at Inlinetube.com, since the tubes I have now probably won't match the cleaner I think I will use INL10903/10904/12128 and air cleaner breather FB59 so the hoses will fit.

I have a 305 HO Dual Snorkel air cleaner from a 4bbl Carb equipped Camaro, works nicely except for some interference from the throttle but i just used a pc of small diameter hose on the air horn to move it up somewhat.

I know you got an air cleaner already but it is easy to make one, I built this one for my 65 using a second air cleaner of the same style and have a welding shop spot weld it back on like the original was.
