FS: 71-72 455 dual snorkel air cleaner base

An extra from my parts stash: This is a nice code 'NH" dual snorkel air cleaner base used on 1971 442s without OAI and also all 1972 V Code 455/M20 cars without OAI. It has been fully stripped and sprayed with a couple coats of satin black, but could use another coat or two of paint to finish it properly (has some storage wear spots). The snorkels are nice overall and the lid is useable but has a crease and some rough spots on one area of the edge. The good news is that any 68-73+ 4 barrel lid is the same. I'll ship this lid if the buyer wants it... $305 plus shipping in a well-packaged box.

Did this post similar performance to the OAI hood? Also what type of tubing is used to feed the beast?

If you are thinking of the 68/69 under-the-bumper scoops with two hoses running to the air cleaner...this is not that air cleaner. The 71/2 style shown didn't use any hoses, etc from the factory. They installed it as you see it....full metal lid and the two open snorkels. Of course, you could get some hoses and hook them up if you wanted to.

Patton beat me to a response and is correct. No ductwork. I would guess that there had to be *some* advantage to having two snorkels but this is an unhyped part that you seldom hear about unless looking for a correct 71 442 or 72 V Code piece.
