Cylinder Heads

I know the C heads are the more desireable but how do the E heads compare?

They are just as good. If you take off the valve rotators you need to get the correct springs in order to use the standard retainers. Install the big valves, do a little valve pocket work and you have a great set of heads.

X2, I ran E heads in 2 engines before I shelled out for the Edelbrocks. Great stock up to I think about a .520 lift, then you may need to take the guides down a bit to run bigger. I think, it's been a while...

Heads

Thanks for the info guys! What exactly would you guys recomend as far as parts for these heads? They will be going on a mild build. I just want as much info as possible before I visit the machine shop, again thanks for the replies. Steve

If you're not going crazy with your cam I would just make sure you have them put hardened seats in (unless done previously) and maybe new valve springs so you don't find out your floating valves at 5,000 rpm AFTER the engine is installed in the car. They can be changed later but it's a whole lot more trouble.

For a budget street build that's about it. Other than the above PREVENTATIVE maintenance, only have them replace what is broken or worn excessively. You should be good
