carb throttle linkage
Where can i find a throttle linkage like this? The previous owner had a cable with two screws rigged up, it has a lot of slack and I don't trust it.
I'm running a Holley carb if that matters?
Thanks

Hey thats my picture!! LOL
I made that linkage myself. I got the steel Rod from the local hardware store and purchased the ball joints from a local store that sold hydraulic components.
Measured/cut and threaded both ends. Easy Peasy

Ahh thanks! Yes I dug that picture up from one of my old threads.
I'll try my handy man skills out and try to make one

Well, there's your problem right there...
Seriously, I went through this when I put the E-brock on my 62. You can get end fittings and threaded connector rods from McMaster Carr (www.mcmaster.com). Here's more info from my previous thread:

both of those setups look great!
Kind of confused on how to measure though. I guess you can't get an exact measurement until you hook each end to the lever, and the carb, then tighten them down on the threads until it is where it needs to be.

I threaded the firewall side. Then laid the entire rod across to the carb. Marked where the ball joint was on the rod and made sure I had enough thread to do whatever adjustment I needed.

Well now that you mention it Eric, they were running a special, "get a belt and matching suspenders" with every Nylock jam nut you buy". I only wear them when I am working on the cutlass. The old lady that lives next door to me loves it!
