Which Carb ???

My project 58 Chevy 1/2 ton Apache short step bed, has a 455 in it that dates to Sept. 1976, Has J heads (which I understand are not so good) and W&Z exhust ( which I understand are good). The truck came to me with no carb. I wish that was the only thing that was missing. The intake is cast iron with id #412753. What carb should I be on the lookout for at swap meets for this motor? Got tons of work to do before I'll be ready to light this thing off but it should be a fun one. thanks for any help.

I would say that a Quadrajet would be the easiest becuase your manifold is made for it. Any carb other than a spreadbore would require an adaptor or a manifold change. Get a carb jetted for a BB Olds, Buick, Pontiac, or Chevy.
