Brackets and pulleys 455 (illustrations?)

Where does everything go and what hardware attaches it? My friend I got the car from gave me everything in a pile and it seems the mounting hardware is nowhere to be found. I need to know what fasteners are needed and where they go for a ‘70 A/C A-body. Oh, and any spacers, I have a pile from scavenging over the last 25 years

I have the original (bad) A/C compressor with hoses for mockup. I need to get all of the A/C stuff new. I just wanna get prepared for getting this into the ‘70. I have a ‘70 CSM, but a cursory look didn’t garner an illustration.
Thanks all,

Is this right so far? Found some suitable hardware to this point.

Yes, so far so good. The H shaped piece goes on the drivers side behind the C shaped piece you have mounted and is the back support for the alternator. The straight bar is for the passengerside and is a support that runs from a water pump bolt to the front of the AC compressor. The Compressor should have a large flat plate on the front, and a smaller curved plate on the back. I'll try to snap some pictures of how it should mount.

This is a 455 in a 1970 Olds 98 so the AC brackets may have slight differences depending on what your application is. First is the alternator brackets on the drivers side. Then are several views of the AC compressor mounted. Sorry, the sun glare makes it hard to see the back of the compressor mount. Let me know if you would like to see closeups of any specific areas.

Here are the drawings from 1966:

Some of the parts are older vintage, but if you review the engine section you'll see the options you can play around with.

Ok, last bracket question. What does this one go to? Back of A/C or something?

Not sure, but I believe that's one of the brackets for the power steering pump.

The power steering pump is still connected to the lines and steering box and it has a bracket already attached to it. Does this somehow go on the back of the pump? And then the whole assembly attaches to the block? I can't find a good pic in the 1970 CSM.

I'm not familiar with that bracket. I've looked through my documents for 1969 v8 and the closest I see to that is the power steering, but that is different. maybe a different year has a slightly different configuration. Best of luck.

It's for a 1970 Cutlass S that originally came with a 350. Maybe someone else has seen it before? I am just trying to figure out if I need it and if so, where it goes.

Can you post pictures of your power steering pump? There should be an adjustment bracket between the pulley and the pump reservoir. John

The link below shows the hardware and spacers and the proper location for the power steering pump on a 70 455 with A/C

Hope that helps
