That is not a factory GM marking so there is no way to identify it.

 

that is a factory making - or there wouldn't be so many of them - but it is for a service and/or industrial engine

Yes, you are correct. I should have said that is not a factory GM marking for a passenger vehicle application.

 

Octavia would use last digit of year & # from 1-365 as code to keep track of things ....seriously doubt thats an engine we rebilt but # system was not exclysive...
looks to be a drill spot there also..assuming BB ,... does the web between timing cover and intake at the top of the block have a drill spot at 45 degrees from the driver side also

numbers are not right side up and all in a nice row which by no means indicates it was not put there by at th plant , they are just not vin# & none there is clue but not proof that it was not in a car
