Another Carter 750

Just bought a NOS Comp series front carb to go with the back one that I had bought new many years ago. Now I'll have a visible label Current set up attached. The new one is in the mail.

Dual Quads = instant bog, from my experience!
Wish you well on that setup!
Looks good!

Looks great but I have to ask, why didn't you go with 2 500's instead? You had to buy one carb anyway. It sure would run better.

Jmo.

Thanks for the comments, haven't installed the new one yet.
I at some point may get the smaller carbs but at over $500 for both I'll wait, the one I got was $200. As far as running good, it does. I've messed with them enough and finally got them tuned where I don't bog at all. Since I've got progressive linkage, the back carb I got set for most of the idle and the front adjusted so the throttle plates are open just a little. Seems to be a smooth transition when the second carb comes into play. I had put smaller jets in them that may have made a difference. Do wish I got better mileage with the good gas at $8.54 a gallon and 93 over $4.00 Course it's not about the mileage.

Well it seems I certainly can't make up my mind. I have two Edelbrock Thunder series 500's coming today. I replaced the new Carter I haven't got yet. I'll just hold on to it along with the other two carbs. Maybe I won't have to tune them as often. Got a 4" Harwood Cowl Hood scoop on the way also.

Did you order just the scoop (bolt or bond on?), or the hood with the scoop on it? I was thinking of the short bolt on euro scoop and going back with my hi rise intake.

I'm getting the bond on scoop only. Putting it a VFN louvered hood. I was thinking bolt on but wanted to save a little money.

I'll post pics, I like the one you may get better than my choice. I was looking at something wider because the way my fuel lines ran. Well now that I changed my carbs the fuel lines are not an issue.

Carbs are on, need to get a PCV hose and an AN fitting to finish the fuel feed line. Just attached some extra elbows I had so I could fire it up. I had to replace the header gaskets again and wanted to warm it up so I could re-torque the header bolts.

Got the scoop but I think I need one a little longer. They have one about 3 inches longer. Should it be longer? Carbs are installed.

Got the new carb even though I won't used it, it's not often you find a NOS version still in original box. The other carb only has maybe 25 hrs on it.
