Another 455 build qusetion
I just got a quote from E & G for a "Standard build with an RV cam".
Obviously, RV is meaningless without the specs.
They mentioned ARP bolts.
What specifics should I be looking for?
I am not looking to build a monster but if there are some parts that have a big bang for the buck, I don't want to be penny wise and pound foolish.
This is going in a 70 cutlass convertible. with 355 Limited Slip
Thanks
Tim

Even just a base performance build should always include the following;
ARP main bolts at least
Eagle or Scat rods
An N crank
Proper machine work should consist of align hone, checking the deck, bore, hone with tq plate, crank grind for proper clearances and balance entire rotating assembly
There are a few decent pistons out there as well that won’t break the bank, ie Wiseco, SRP, Icon. That should get you headed in the right direction.
Hope this helps.
