Aluminum intake ID

I have a 455 in my 71 Cutlass with a aluminum intake manifold. Any help that I`m trying to ID. I know the motor is a 1972. Any help would be graceful. Thanks

A close up of the logo in a tiny stylized black and white photo doesn't provide a lot to go on. This could be a real W30 intake, or it could be a repro. No way to tell from this photo. How about some better pictures? Include the casting number.

Joe ,I`m going home next week and will look for that intake manifold casting number. Is it located on top of the manifold? And will get better pictures. Thanks for your help

The intake casting number is between the carb flange and the plate for the choke pipes, on the passenger side. See the "407570" on the intakes in this photo. Real is on the left, repro on the right. Note the differences in font size and shape. One telltale of a repro is the casting flash around the "OLDS" lettering and around the casting number. The repro houses have one mold for all three versions of this intake and just change these small plates with the letters and numbers. That joint leaves a faint tell-tale ridge, as shown by the arrow.

I have an engine at the machine shop right now. It is next in line for a complete rebuild. If your engine was good and local I would be interested.

This is the deal that I`m doing. I bought a 1993 LT1 and 4L60E from a Corvette from a guy in Mesa. I live in Sun City West during the winter. I brought it home to Spokane this week and spending time up here for Christmas. I`m going to put this set up in my 71 Cutlass because I like fuel injection.
I`m selling the motor and tranny that is in the car. The motor is a 1972 455, 4 barrel carb. and a repop W-30 intake manifold. I bought the car with this engine in it and don`t know much about it. It seems to run pretty good, there is no knocking when first started in the morning which means the bearings are ok. The tranny is a rebuilt 200R4 that I put in about 500 miles ago, I have the receipt for that so you can see what the tranny shop did to it. Cost me about $2500 because I had no core. I`m wanting $4000 for the whole works. If any of this interests you we should talk. Will be coming back to AZ in about a week or so. Feel free to call if you want to.
