68 442 frame mounts

I have been reading posts on this site for a while now, and I find this site very knowledgable. Your all awsome.
I Purchased a 68 442 with a 455 and th400 engine is a 71 from what i have been told by previous owner. Question I have are the frame mounts for engine the same as 350 or 400? Car should have came with 400... I am assuming. When I pulled engine out I noticed bottom of engine mounts were hitting top of frame mounts. Also need to replace engine mounts, are they the same right and left, and should I order them for a 69 or 70 which came with a 455?
Thanks, bosch 68 442

In 1968 the metal pads that bolt to the crossmember were the same for a 350 or 400. The 1968-69 400 and all years 455 are the same motor on the outside, it's the bore that made the different displacement. You should purchase the rubber mounts for a 1968 400 as you need to match the rubber mounts to the metal pads. Check out this thread for more info on the mounts you need to buy:

No problem! You are clearly not the first nor will you be the last person to deal with this issue! I appreciate Joe's knowledge and his post of part numbers & pictures to use as references. John
