'67 Toro engine swap
I don't know any local experts on this.
I want to have the engines on my Toros swapped.
Can the motor and transmission be swapped as a unit, or is it less labor intensive to move just the engines?
Asking because I've heard that reattaching the tranny can be quite the chore.

Given the multiple interfaces between the transaxle and the motor (including the differential bracket and the axle shaft under the oil pan), I agree with John. It's easier to work all those parts with the assembly out of the car.

I have a chassis service manual I got on line about 20 years ago. Probably a reproduction as it is two books with plastic comb bindings.
Believe it or not
I refer to it before asking silly questions here.
I will check again but don't recall anything about pulling the motor and tranny as a unit.
Any pointers on what to do or avoid doing would be appreciated.
