4GC Vaccum Question

The following photo is of a 4GC on a 1962 394.

Is the large green arrow pointing to ported vacuum?

Just pull the hose off and connect a vacuum gauge. If there is no vacuum at idle but it goes up as you start to open the throttle, it's ported. If it is high at idle, it's manifold vacuum.

You can do this same test by holding your finger over the hole.

No expert here, but did they even use ported vacuum on a 1962 car? I thought that was a product of the emission control era.
