468 EFI build

I thought I'd post another build I just finished.
4.185x4.250
9.9:1
Racetec Piston, 15cc dish
N Crank
Joe Mondello E heads (255@.600) 2.07/1.62 valves
Comp cams Hyd Roller 230/238@.050, on a 112lsa. Lift is .580
Edelbrock O-4B intake bunged for EFI
1200CFM+ Throttle body
AEM Infinity ECU
FAST Dual Sync distributor
W/Z Exhaust manifolds
Std pump with purple spring, 20W-50 Havoline

Guys if you have this intake, throw it away. It sucks. I only used it because we needed the hood clearance. They're otherwise useless imo.
Georges 425 made the same hp and slightly less torque with the same ex manifolds, a similar head, cam, and compression. But his had a Performer and 40c.i. less. Hope this helps.

It still looks to be a very good build less the intake.Numbers were not that bad.Just goes to show that you have to plan for all parts to work together to compliment the build where the engine will performs best at it's potential.I bet the owner of this engine is happy as well.Congrats Mark and thanks for posting the build and dyno sheet.

Considering it uses absolutely no fuel for combustion after 4100rpms, I'd say you are doing good.

Among those who tested it on the strip when it came out it showed no gain over the stock intake way back then, even with all that weight reduction of it over cast iron. The Offy back then was a little faster.

I suspect the real power killer to be those W/Z exhaust manifolds. The gases may be bouncing back into the exhaust ports after hitting the wall inside them. Even the Sanderson for the 455 have shown a pretty good gain according to some. No one in the hay day of racing ran stock exhaust manifolds on Olds, that I remember.

Vizard would narrow that LSA way down to about 103.

Lol! Yeah, not sure why it even registered at all. He doesn't have the fuel flow meter connected to his high pressure EFI pump, only the carb pump.
However you really don't need it with EFI anyway. You can figure fuel consumption from the fuel table.
FW- I disagree on the exhaust manifolds. While I believe headers are always the best way to go, I've made 500 with these manifolds before. The intake is by far the biggest issue here.

Probably not a good idea with exhaust manifolds... with that much overlap you'll just pollute the heck out of the inlet charge. Would be an interesting test for someone that has time and money, but you typically see the narrow LSA's on well-tuned engines... JMO...

500 hp with exhaust manifolds?? Wow! How'd you make that happen? Interesting news on the O4B...

Not a good idea maybe, with cast iron, but usually you reduce the duration to reduce the overlap, with something like 103, or that's what Vizard told me. Just saying. Its always the balance

New dyno sheet, 1350cfm throttle body along with a 1" spacer. If anyone plans to use this intake you may want to consider using an 1150 Dominator carb on it. Even with all this cfm and spacer, it picked up power everywhere, no loss at lower rpm's. The plenum on this intake is waaaay too small.
