455 valve cover - PCV valve?

OK, last question for the night... I promise!!

Found an open hole in the passenger sider valve cover. Don't know how I or many others missed it. I'm assuming this is for a PCV valve plumbed to the air cleaner?

Is so, what do I need to pick up locally to fix? There is a hole on the air cleaner on that side as well...

I know, stupid Newbie posting like crazy tonight!!! LOL

Thanks for any help...

Yes one side is for a PCV and the other would have a line going to the air cleaner.

It appears the driver side goes to the carb, so is that the PCV? If so, what do I put on the passenger side to the air cleaner, just a hose? Sorry for being ignorant on this, but thanks, for the help!

The stock PCV system is somewhat elaborate with special metal tubes for the breather side... Depends on what you want.

You can get a factory style breather at your local auto parts store - this pic is from the AutoZone web site. The parts store replacements may be plastic whereas the factory originals were metal, but they look and function the same.

Note that the OP has aftermarket chrome valve covers which may or may not accept a factory-style breather. The grommet in the second photo is not the D-shaped Olds grommet, so we don't know what size the hole is.

Good point. The OP can just put a PCV in the passenger side and an open breather in the drivers side. Or he can install a breather with a nipple and connect a hose to the air cleaner assy.
