455 Valley Pan Gasket

Having my intake bead blasted and wondering if before I put it back on is anyone else using one of these Fel-Pro valley pan gaskets and should I replace it with the same one or just use standard gaskets, no valley pan.

And I guess one more question which may be a no brainer but should I replace this one no matter what I decide?

Thanks
before

You can't reuse the old one. I prefer not to use the turkey tray. Just get a Mr. Gasket 4 piece intake manifold gasket set. Ditch the end rails and use RTV instead. This works the best.

Ditch the end rails huh?

Thanks, as far as re using I kind of figured that you never do it, it just seems to be in decent shape so I wasn't sure. But I am sure it would leak...

Thanks again

That is what alot of folks do. They just use RTV on the end rails instead. The rubber end rails can blow out from time to time. I've had success with and without the end rails. In the future I think I am going to use RTV exclusively.

Well I did notice the forward passenger side corner of the endrail was missing so I guess I understand your point.

I only use the turkey tray and have had no problems with it in almost four decades of building Oldsmobiles. No, you cannot reuse it. The beads around the ports crush at installation to form the seal. Once deformed, they shouldn't be reused.
