455 Trans Am P/S Pulley

455 Trans Am P/S Pulley
Hi - I am trying to install the alternator and power steering brackets onto a 1976 455 but going into a 1979 Trans Am (which originally had the 403). Trans Ams had a unique alternator and power steering setup in order to help clear the steering box. If I were to use the Trans Am 403 brackets onto the 455, the alternator bracket is not wide enough to bolt to the water pump stud and would hang loose (unless I made a piece to join them together).
So I then test fitted the original 455 power steering bracket and its too close to the steering box as shown in the pics; I can't even get the belt on. Could/Should I use a double p/s pulley off a 307 that is 5.8 inches for example (Lares part #159) and use the 455 brackets? Will this cause the power steering pump to run too fast? Other than getting a smaller belt, any other issues? Other thoughts/options?
Thanks in advance.

I did a 455 swap into a 80 T/A years ago, I used a stock G body power steering pump. If I remember correctly, I used a shorter belt than is technically required to pull the pump away from the gearbox. It was close, but it worked fine.

Thanks - that's what I was thinking; using one from a 307 / G body. A lot harder to find them in junkyards and may have to go with aftermarket. Was also thinking maybe a 350 power steering bracket might be shorter and pull the pulley closer into the crank but maybe not.
