455 stroker

Gang
has anyone built a 455 stroker? If so can i get in detail the parts you put into it from the crank to the top end?

Actually I figured I'd let a few of the guys on here respond. There are a couple that just recently did them.

But the general info is that you can either buy an Eagle stroker crank or have an "N" crank offset ground to a 4.500 stroke. Both cranks, the Eagle and the stocker, will use 7.1" BBC rods in that configuration. Mahle and CP make pistons.
You'll need to relieve the block in certain areas for rod clearance. Good heads are a must, hardly seems worth doing if it can't breathe. And depending on the hp level at least strapped mains, maybe even a girdle. Remember you're swinging a bigger arm (stroke), that's harder on everything.
The intake and carb will depend on the rest of the equipment and desired power.

I'm thought I just did that. I guess not.

I think the Eagle rotating assembly kits are about $2200.00. Again from there your choice of cam, intake, carb and headwork will depend on how much power you're looking for and desired results. And both the Mahle and CP pistons are only available in one dish size each.

However as in any quality rebuild, first rate machine work and attention to detail will go a long way.

Too general a question with not enough info provided to expect a reasonable price estimate.

For example what heads?, iron or aluminum? & what level of porting?.
What intake & carb?
Roller cam?, hydraulic?, solid?; solid roller
What compression ratio & whose pistons based on what stroke & bore.
What crank?

Budget at least $10K if you have some of the parts already. Budget up to $18K if you have absolutely nothing & want it built to the max plus installed & chassis tuned.

By the way...You'll still need to budget for an upgraded fuel system to feed the monster & an upgraded trans & differential to deliver the power to the ground.
