Question 455 Rebuild advice needed

I'm starting my first EVER engin rebuild, so I'm coming to the experts.. I'll have assistance from a very experienced builder. He's no Olds guy, so he's going to help me execute the suggestions while also teaching me a few things along the way. My source motor is a from a 68 Toronado. I pulled the heads, will get them cleaned. My friend suggested getting the block honed(as cylinders looked good), changing the pistons, rings, bearings, and possibly getting a -10 undergrind on the crank and milling the deck. I wasn't planning on any boring of the block.
Any suggestion on piston brand\compression? What price range should I expect for the machine work?
Not trying to build a racer, just a strong runner...

Thanks

For a street car build, go with Speed Pro forged pistons. But, do not use their clearance spec of .002". Go to .004/.005"

Have the rods reconditioned - new bolts, resize the big end.

Be sure to use the right oil galley plugs, especially the ones in the front and back that have the oiling holes.

A good 3 angle valve job is mandatory, with new springs and seals. be sure the guides are not worn.

The block sound be cleaned, and bored if the cylinders are worn/tapered. Also, check the alignment of the main bearings.

I would also suggest that you have the reciprocating assembly balanced.

New parts: cam, lifters, springs, seals, main/rod/cam bearings, oil pump and pick up, gasket set, water pump, freeze plugs

Expect this rebuild to cost you about $2,500 minimum by the time you are done.
