I've no experience with them but from a concept vantage point; how would one cut it without causing some damage and then expanding it enough to go over the back flange of the crank without distortion? A two piece rubber seal has two factory made ends and just one additional joint at the end of the day
This may be the best seal ever but it raises a couple of questions in my mind. Have any members used one?
So that "one piece" seal still has a seam in it. Seems like the answer to the question no one asked. The FelPro BBF seal with a dab of RTV on the ends works fine in every motor I build.
I used one about 5 years ago just out of curiosity. It was expensive back then.
got it through Kasse racing engines. That’s where I first heard about the one piece Ford 460 seal. I believe it’s made in the U.K.?
not sure if this one is just the Ford one being sold for Olds or if it’s different…they do have a Ford 460 on their website and the same picture..so probably the Ford one like Kasse
you cut it with a razor blade on a slight angle in the direction of rotation . I put the cut facing up in the block so I could see it when I dropped the crank in.
this is the Kasse one
