Don't you mean Eagle crank?
Why the 4/7 swap cam?
Any reason for only a 750 carb?

Any dyno numbers?

Sorry for all the questions, just curious.

No dyno numbers, they had estimates but they were just taking a shot in the dark. And yes sorry it is a Eagle, mislabeled as "Scat Eagle" no idea why in my notes and receipts. Left the 4/7 swap to the shop who did the work, they left the decision to their "Olds specialist", a lot people seem to dislike that phrase but I am confident he knows what he is doing considering he built a 1100 horse Olds BB that was sitting in their show room. Carb is also a 780, again mislabeled in my notes but the box doesn't lie. I should also note that this is going to simply be a badass street car so I have no plans for slicks or racing and it will only get maybe 200 miles a year so I wanted it to have good manners.

Good looking Engine and I am curious how those mufflers sound, I am looking for good exhaust flow without the resonating sound. Last time I used Hemi mufflers. I think your car will have good power on the street!!

Silly questions, but I'm compiling parts for my 455 build. It that a chrome or a polished aluminum water pump? What kind of fuel pump are you using. Thanks, Dave

nice build - if that's a holley mechanical fuel pump - I'd take that off
and throw it right in the trash and put a non chrome one on if you feel you
need to run a mechanical pump. I had 2 of those crack at the horizontal part of the housing coming off the block ...

for a stroker like that I'm not sure a holley mechanical will keep up with
demand if you plan on running it other than on the street .

I have no pics of the BBO but I am going back to the shop in a few weeks, if I remember I will get some pics and info. The water pump is chrome and I am not to worried about the pump since I never have any intention on running other than the street, it won't get anymore than 200 miles a year. Just some random car shows and short drives.

I know from your photo of your engine is far from done, but I did not see a pcv valve opening on your valve covers, just a suggestion but I did that once and I had the same oil cap you do and it blew oil all over the engine so make sure you let it breath. and a 780cfm holley is one of the best street carbs ever you can fine tune it and it will be very snappy on the street!!! Please keep us informed on your progress and let me know how you mufflers sound!!!

Thanks for the input. I don't think it is going to be a issue in this particular setup, the machine shop put 4 hours on the motor because of this exact concern. Did on and off test while the motor was cold and hot and a few longer duration runs and didn't run into this issue. Plus they did it for free(including fuel) to check for other issues also. So hoping it doesn't cause an issue.

Thanks. Still got more things to do like bleed brakes, Posi carrier and get the hood on and some little tedious things. Will definitely be using the GoPro for the first ride.

Worst part is I lived in the area my entire life so as far back as I remember that most roads haven't received anything except cold patch. I helped pay to get the road my driveway is on paved because it seemed like every 2 months they would come around to redo the tar and chip, that liquid asphalt is a pain to get off all vehicles let alone older cars.

Its the same crap down here in Fla, they 4 laned SR44 and spent 300million on the project and two years it was completed in 2007 and they are right now repaving it!! Crazy! It doesnt have that heavy a traffic load, overweight trucks and just plain crappy work period! In Gemany when they finish a road it will last around 20 years and hold up well. I found a 69 442 on the Swiss border in 2004 and it was a convertible with only 64,000 miles they sold it for 10,400 euros!!! I have pictures! it was a solid car but a butt ugly color!! Wish I could have driven it on the Autobahn!! Anyway the roads over there are so good. Our country has alot of miles of roads and they really should do them to last!! not this crappy tar and gravel mix that breaks down in 4 years and even less up North with the Ice and salt. Our cars and our wallets pay the price for incompitence!!

Debating what ratio to go with for the posi carrier. With the original open carrier it easily spins the wheel when punched at any speed. Knowing this car was never made for more than just street use I was thinking about 3.08 or 3.23 to keep it as tame as possible.

I have had both and the 3.23 gives a little more umph in the lower gears not much but it also runs good on the highway. My favorite all around gear is 3.42. But if your going to drive alot go with the 3.23 at least I would.

Who knew reverse had more than 1 gear.

And props for the mad skills in driving in reverse for such a long distance like that.
