455 engine qiestion

455 engine qiestion

I have a 455 in my car, Aluminum intake W-455 part number 406115, Head casting number E, engine casting number by the power steering bracket is 30M332__6, the last 3 numbers are hard to read, any ideas what year this engine is, Thanks Phil from Milwaukee 72, 442

It's a 1970 block.

And it has '70 442 heads 'E'.

What makes them 442 heads? All 455 heads except W30 heads were E castings in 1970. The only way to tell if they MIGHT have been on a 442 would be to check the size of the valves, and even that is not 100% as all Toroandos got the large valve heads.

Thanks for the help, any one know if the Rochester had stud or bolts to holsd it to the Aluminum W-455 intake, just took off the Holley, and has 4 stud which do no fit the Rochester, also anyone ahve a diagram of where the vacuum lines go, thanks Phil

The Qjet uses bolts - long ones in the front and short ones in the back.
