455 core/parts purchase flirtation

Hi, let's first say thet I am happy with my 350/th350 setup.

Someone near me has a 1976 455 4v from a Delta 88 that has sat in his shed for 6 years. The famous, it would turn over by hand when stored. I got it for a replacement for his 72 Cutlass whish he no longer owns. He does not know if it a F or Fa and doesn't want to dig everything out of the shed just to check. It does have J heads, he remembers that. It is complete intake to pan, less Carb and pulleys and exhaust manifolds. He also has a 1970 block/engine less heads, carb and crank.

Withthe right pistons/ CRatio, could I, someday, get any good hp/tq out of the J heads with major work? I rather buy different heads throw $$$ at OK results.

I want to buy the pair (is asking little for my area) butthe wife and storage space will kill me.

Just start putting sheds everywhere on your property.

I find myself buying out other people's shed contents, but when I get home, I'm thinking: "$h1T!!! I should have bought the shed too." "Where am I going to put this junk?"

I must agree. How much Olds stuff can there be
in you neck of the woods?

I don't think you can go wrong on those engines,
if they are cheap enough.
I'm sure momma will understand.
They say with a LOT of work, the J's can be bad as*.
Good luck and as J said, "Buy the shed too."
