455 compression

a 1970 442 455 engine rebuilt about 12000 miles / 7 yrs ago bored out .030, competition cam.
I'm about to start a chassis off restoration, and I'm not intending to rebuild the engine, so I just did a compression test and all cylinders are about 110-118. I'm thinking of just pulling the heads, new valves, roller rockers P rods, seats & hone the heads..........I'm thinking that will be fine.
I think the compression is good ............any ideas?

Why would you do all that to a 12,000 mile engine?

And someone obviously put in the deep dish pistons, 110 is low for a "70" 455.

what would be the normal compression on a 455? and at 110 on compression would i benefit greatly if i just rebuilt the entire engine?

All I can tell you is I have 9.7:1 with a smallish Hyd roller and I have 175psi.
How does the car run? If it runs o.k. then leave it alone. If you're wanting more performance then it might be helpful to pull one head, that way you can see what piston is in it etc.

Eric - you and I both know that just because it was "rebuilt" unfortunately doesn't necessarily mean it was done correctly.

Jmo.

Ahhhhhhhh... Exploratory surgery. I understand. You didn't mention that you weren't the one who "rebuilt" it .
