OK. So I'm getting prepped for some dyno time in the next couple weeks. I have switched to an MSD billet distributor. Given my combo, would you start with the 18 degree or 21 degree bushing? And why? Or better yet, how much initial timing will my engine probably like is the more concise question.

Would you mind posting your combo again?

compression, cam, where cam was installed at?

In the meantime, I recommend just locking your distributor for the Dyno and setting it at 32 degrees to start with, if you have verified that your timing pointer is 100% correct.

depending on your cam, it may like 34-35 degrees total once you get it close

So..........what were the final results of your dyno testing?

No results yet. Had some "life" things come up. Hoping to get it done soon.
