455 Aluminum Heads
Pross4- most companies will give special deals to the guys who help design the product. And the guys who help design it get it done without having the CAD or start up costs, the manufacturers take care of that. If both see it as a viable project then it's a win-win.
My conversation with Edelbrock was in fact to do a few things to potentially increase their sales, not necessarily lower their costs. It just so happens my best connection there is in the process of building a stroker 455 so I hit them at a good time, I hope.
Thanks.

Oh Neely is your name wr1970. Hi Neely I'm Eric, I hear your going to get the floor sweeper job when Don and his boys start up, or possibly start up/buy out an iron engine shop.
I know you would like to get promoted from floor sweeper to sales but hey man its not looking good here for you at the moment haha.

I like how you claim you built it then switch to Mark built it. LOL I have four working engines i built. Let you fingers tell how much 11.20 at 120 equates to. Oh try a frame off in 7 months then race it and win$$ at a race track first time racing at a race track 2001. Show and shine. LOL Roasting tires dude that is why your don't know how to make your car hook. Sad that you think that is power.Simply you really don't know squat.I have heard enough from a car polisher that thinks he knows how to make power on the street. What a joke. I doubt you can get a 11 second pass out of your sonic chaser.
I have also built my own engine, following an engine recipe from Mark. using procomp heads.

If a guy can build his own thats great, at least you know what you have, I work with group of guys that drive older mustangs and thats all they brag about is how much they paid for thier crate engines and the work someone else has done for them. I can see farming some of the stuff out like machining and stuff that takes high dollar tools.
Hoe..yea Nelly built them, raced them, loved em' slept in em', then made lots of cash in em' for his 7month resto Put-r-ther . Its unfortunate the man accomplished so much, now that he had his Ovaries taken out he just can't control himself.
Oh Nelly keep hittin the hormone pills they will eventually work and watch your iron levels.
I build my engines and transmissions and have this to say I dont tend to listen to anyone on here or around me for what its worth . I come here to bounce ideas around and get diffrent views on things. I do things MY WAY .
Aluminum heads are good. There is nothing wrong about them and the procomps have been out long enough to really see what they are worth. I will admit at first i thought JUNK. But now i wanna see what guys can do with them. Im all for seeing what guys can do with iron and its amazing what has been done. If i went with aluminums i would go with the RRP heads just because i have seen plenty of cars with them and a few of my buddies run em. The big advantage to aluminum would be being able to run more compression on the street and the wheight savings and of course a breeze to port probably. I personally have not ran aluminums and if i had to pay to have a set of heads done i would probably buy a set of procomps. I traded labor for my ported heads., ported by 67cutlassfreak but i would probably never pay what it would cost to do a set of heads up like that. Im cheap lol.
76Olds you got no room to talk Dude. What have you actually done where your contribution can actually be backed up with results. You bitch about having a slow pig of a car and talk to guys about doing this and having this built and then back out. Come here when you get your sh*t together.

Ive pretty much always ran Chevy and Pontiac but I build all my engines and transmissions, I built an olds back in the early 90s that I liked, I like this sight for the different opinions and the internet wasnt an option for information when i built the last one, Joe Mondello was about it, I like to port the cast iron heads for more of a challenge then anything and I think that is a viable option if one has the time to do it but ill eventually run procomps.
