Cool 425 harmonic balancer?

Need some help..... Rebuilding my '66 Starfire 425 engine (385hp) and need a harmonic balancer. Do I have to find one specifically for a 425 or are there other GM motors using the same balancer? Compatibility charts on the ebay auctions don't give me much hope for a "generic" fit. Thanks for helping!
Mike

I believe yours can be rebuilt if you have it. I also believe all 65-67 V8 engines from Olds are the same (330 400 425).

I have a couple of them if you have trouble finding one. Also one NOS.

Harmonic balancer

My olds parts book states that the 400/425 use the same balancer, the 330 uses a different number, on that note Run to Rund do you still have the NOS balancer available? Thanks. Bob.

Damper and part number 1966 Olds Toronado

Hello, thanks for the reply, the part number sounds correct according to my Olds parts book, and this is the one that is NOS and is it still boxed, etc and can you send me a picture of it? Bob.

harmonic balancer

Hey run to rund, did you send me a private message, my browser must have blocked the pop up. Checking on the availability of the balancer. Bob.

Joe ( Rund to Rund ) is the 400-425 go to guy. I still have some balancers-rods I bought from him if he ever runs out of them.

I probably have a lifetime supply of both, lol. Since my lifetime doesn't look as long as it did 40 years ago, I think it is time to let go of some stuff. . .
