Nice, it looks great. What do you think of the performance of the Victor manifold and what cfm carb are you running if you don't mind my asking. I am trying to figure out what combo to run on my 455 build for the 48 Olds

4 corner

Nice setup!! But how does it bypass when the t-stat is closed? Or are you not running one? Thanks.

I'd be interested to know about the performance of that manifold as well.

Heres seems to be the best info I got.......

Jerr, the pump pulls water from the bottom of the radiator, pumps it into the block, from the block to the heads, and from the heads to the water cross over at the front of the intake, then to the thermostat housing and back to the radiator. If you run lines from the back of the heads to the cross over at the front of the intake (or thermostat housing) it will remove the hot water at the back of the head faster and help keep the temps at the back of the head close to the temp at the front of the head where the water spends less time in the head. If you don't run lines from the back of the head to the water cross over at the front of the intake, the water has to go from the back of the head, then across the head to exit out the front water port.

Even if the temperature differences between front and rear combustion chambers are small after the engine heat soaks at the very least it will help circulate water faster out of the heads. So, there is no downside to doing it other than the cost of plumbing.

Nice set-up and Olds. I'm running about the same set-up and was figuring that intake is too much for my combo. What do you think from your expirence? This is my current set-up at 3500#s with me in it.

Lunati hyd cam. 241 dur. 545 lift. 110 lsa
E-Brock heads
Harland Sharp roller rockers
Torler intake 800 holley with proform main body
9.8 to c.r.
2" super comps to 3' pipes to spintech ELs- no tailpipes
th400 3500 stall manual vb
3.42 gear with ssm lift bars
Hoosier QTPs 28x 11.5
Best so far 11.60 @116 1.57 sisty foot.
