394 radiator
Just took the radiator to a local radiator shop this morning-Mac's radiator.
All i wanted them to do was check it out and let us know how it is and if needing replacement. I received a call about 2 hours later "your radiator is too old (48 years), partially plugged and on its last leg. He quoted me $450 to recore.
Does this seem like a fair estimate?
I called around and I guess this radiator is no longer available. USA parts supply wants $499 factory rebuilt plus overcharge shipping fee.
Will recoring the radiator make it pretty much new? Or does anyone know of a quality shop with a better price?
This radiator is out of a 1963 Starfire w/ no a/c

I just bought a new radiator stock style for a 67 442. It was 433.00 delivered. A few years ago I had a 66 Sfire radiator recored for 300 and change. Recore uses original tanks and replaces center fins and tubes. It is good as new after a recore. If ya can get it done for under 400 you are doin good.
