1971 water valve

I have a 1971 442 and the water valve does not have a vacuum port on it. Car has ac. Is this correct for some applications? If so how do you route the vacuum hoses?

The water valve must have a vacuum port to operate. Either yours is broken or incorrect. Also note that the 1972-earlier A-body cars use a valve that is normally closed and opens with vacuum applied. The full size cars used a valve that is normally open and closes with vacuum. Be sure you get the correct one for your application.
